...No, wait, that's wrong. Let's do it a little differently today, though.

Some of you might've seen this gif around before. As cute as the name 'nope spider' is, it's actually known as either the <a href="en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wheel_spider">Wheel Spider or Golden Wheel Spider</a>. It lives in Southern Africa, and is a huntsman spider. The wheels you can see it do down slopes are what happens when it notices a parasitic wasp around and needs to get out of there quickly. Nothing quite like barrelling down the side of a dune at a meter a second!

Here's what it looks like when it's not spinning, and <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4odlo0Afjs">here's</a> a video of its fascinating antics!

The interesting thing is that this spider isn't the only animal that's mastered the art of rolling out of there. There's an inch-long pebble toad that does the same thing, actually, pebbling up and bouncing down the slopes it's on. And this guy does it in response to a predatory spider.

T-t-that's all, folks- ...Ah- wait, no, there's more!

For those of you who live in London (and I know there are some! I've seen the FS comment stats!), did you know that there's a <a href="http://www.zsl.org/zsl-london-zoo/whats-on/friendly-spider-programme,320,EV.html">Friendly Spider Programme</a> at London Zoo? What it does is try to tackle common myths about spiders, how and why people are scared of them, why people really shouldn't be in general, and then address those phobias.

Even if you're not really scared but you'd like to know more about spiders and how they're like, I'd suggest taking a look if you can! The next avaliable courses are in September and October, though. <a href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1327911/Scared-spiders-So-I--I-cuddled-Frieda-tarantula.html">Here's</a> an article on what it's like, from a person who attended it. Warning, spider pics in there- here's one from a person in the course itself, though.

The spider he's handling is a Mexican red-kneed tarantula, otherwise known as Brachypelma smithi. It's a soft and friendly spider and pretty easy to handle!
