More things in the Mustelidae family today! I've featured them quite a few times- weasels, otters and so on, but there's so much more to go that I just had to showcase a few more. Here's a fact for today, though: did you know that the striped polecat, the european polecat and the marbeled polecat all belong to different genuses? Also, while the steppe polecat, american polecat and european polecat are all under Mustela, Mustela nigripes- the American polecat- is actually better known as the black-footed ferret. It's all definitely a bit confusing, isn't it? Fun, anyway.

And of course, spider time!

Today's a spider that belongs in the Thomisidae- or crab spider- family. Its name is Epicadus heterogaster, and it definitely is a real standout! I personally think it's one of the prettiest spiders I've ever seen, as well, and that it looks a bit like a tiny flower on its own. Plus, it even comes in different colours, just to make it that much prettier.

You might think their bright colours would make them stand out, but that doesn't happen at all normally. In fact, they can be incredibly hard to spot. Take a look at this photograph, where one of them has caught hold of a bug. If not for that indication, it'd probably take quite a while for anyone to see where the spider is.

That's all for today, though!
